Most people wish on stars, right? Not me, I wish on passing hay trucks (what's a hay truck, you ask...it's a truck carrying bales of hay). See, when I was a kid, my mother would always tell me if I wished on a passing hay truck, my wishes would come true. Have my wishes come true? Some, but most wish requests have not. But, still, to this day, I wish on passing hay trucks.
My father died in 1957 and he always "wished at hay trucks" and trucks full (only full ones) meant good luck was right around the corner. My brother remembers Eddy Arnold singing a song on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show that ended with the line, "I'll keep on wishing at hay trucks", or something similar: anyone know the song? If you do, please let me know at jaw787@gmail.com, with HAY TRUCK as subject! Thanks!
